No hate, I would really want to have a candid discussion as to why you think that. Well when i said Rihanna (sorry correction for that Rhianna spelling)i just think she's fresher in terms of creativity. There's a certain wow factor. And i think she could last the duration of the allowed time. I mean i think every singer has that potential since they do it on tours day in day out for numerous weeks. If you look at Rihanna's previous songs and compare the same songs she has performed in the same week, dont you think they are slightly different? Ok if not Rihanna but anybody else even Jay Z would of added some originality in the creative department. Its true someone here said routines wouldnt be the same without the signature moves but why do remix's of tracks then or put in a new style like dubstep etc into a segment of the track. Everyone knows the original moves and yes it doesnt hurt to put a couple of those thrown in. It was similar, yes, because of the hair flipping and some choreography, but not the same. If she did none of those things she would not be who she is as a performer, such has Michael performing with no crotch grab or kick, or Whitney with no runs. I believe you were looking for a storyline with this performance. But I believe that's nothing more than a gimmick. She is performer, which includes singing live and dancing like she's not. I saw that performance and that it was probably her best to date. But that doesn't say much to me. It was her BEST and not one of the bests. If you want to talk about performances with water, Youtube P!nk- "Glitter in the air", now that, in my opinion, was one of the bests.

I am someone that respects greatness, not something created just to be memorable, as anything could earn that title. To those complaining that Beyonce used the same routines I think its not that they used the same routines out of lack of creativity but the routines are just as signature as the song. As a Beyonce fan who watched the game with non Beyonce fans, I will say we were all amazed by the performance. She sang flawlessly and the show was great! comparing Beyonces performance to Madonna is ridiculous because Madonna performed with several other artist while Beyonce perfomed with her self and destiny's child, for her its often a one man show and she showed out! If she doesnt have a new song why would she perform that? furthermore I think most people who hate beyonce hate her because she is a perfectionist but she knows shes not perfect they also hold her to a standard they do not hold anyone else to, so no matter what she does its never good enough to them. Either way beyonce rocked the stage, Rihanna should never even get compared since they are two completely different artists!!!!
Beyoncé simply can't win! No one in this era can outperform her. She makes something extremely difficult appear effortless. As for Rihanna, she’s a great recording artist, not performer. I've seen Beyoncé and Rihanna live and there's no comparison. Beyoncé schools the best of the best when it comes to live performance. And, the dance moves go hand in hand with the songs so it would have been awkward to see new choreography with familiar songs. New material is probably what was missing but I'm sure it was very difficult to narrow all her hits down to a 12 minute show. As for DC, she didn't have to include them at all so the fact that they performed a quarter of the Beyoncé show was remarkable. Most artists wouldn't take the risk of being accused of not being able to pull it off without them. And Kelly hands down appeared more confident and comfortable on stage last night than any of her solo gigs. All and all great performance and show. Go Bey!!!

DeleteAs a Beyonce fan who watched the game with non Beyonce fans, I will say we were all amazed by the performance. She sang flawlessly and the show was great! comparing Beyonces performance to Madonna is ridiculous because Madonna performed with several other artist while Beyonce perfomed with her self and destiny's child, for her its often a one man show and she showed out! If she doesnt have a new song why would she perform that? furthermore I think most people who hate beyonce hate her because she is a perfectionist but she knows shes not perfect they also hold her to a standard they do not hold anyone else to, so no matter what she does its never good enough to them. Either way beyonce rocked the stage, Rihanna should never even get compared since they are two completely different artists!!!!

ReplyDeleteAs for Rihanna, she’s a great recording artist, not performer. I've seen Beyoncé and Rihanna live and there's no comparison. Beyoncé schools the best of the best when it comes to live performance. And, the dance moves go hand in hand with the songs so it would have been awkward to see new choreography with familiar songs.
New material is probably what was missing but I'm sure it was very difficult to narrow all her hits down to a 12 minute show.
As for DC, she didn't have to include them at all so the fact that they performed a quarter of the Beyoncé show was remarkable. Most artists wouldn't take the risk of being accused of not being able to pull it off without them. And Kelly hands down appeared more confident and comfortable on stage last night than any of her solo gigs.
All and all great performance and show. Go Bey!!!
Rihanna can. Lady Gaga can. Nicole Scherzinger can. You all need to broaden your horizons. Beyonce is not the only person who can perform. Even Kelly can perform just as good if not better.

Underrated artists are so much better than overrated artists like Beyonce and to some extent Michael. And I loved Michael. Who else can sing and dance at the same time for 13 minutes straight and sound good vocally! That's how a half time show should be done. It would be awkward to see a different choreography for crazy in love or single ladies because it is original and is remembered! Beyonce did her thing. Rihanna at super bowl: I hope next super bowl halftime will be Rihanna and I hope like Michael Jackson and Beyonce, she picks the right songs to perform at the halftime. Usually I don't like most of the songs singers choose to perform at halftime. But I liked all of Beyonce's performances and songs at the halftime.
For me....Beyonce appeals because I like to focus mainly on the performer, so Madonna's performance was super boring for me, too much back up and production....same goes for when i watch Rihanna. The essence of Beyonce as a performer is to focus on her...she always tells us that she does not feel she needs a massive production, just a mic and light and specifically that she now focuses on quality not quantity....and it's true.....only because she is beyonce.....MJ too could get away with small repetitive but quality productions......this is what contributes to their iconic entertainer status.....so i think people should just get used to seeing beyonce with smaller productions and signature routines but crazy energy!!! I would love to see chris brown next year, thats only if he gets his act right......
